Tyler Lockett is heading a long way from Seattle. The Seahawks free agent took to social media on Wednesday night to announce his next NFL destination. Lockett's choice: Tennessee, to play for the Titans.

I’m excited to be a Tennessee Titan!! I’m super thankful and grateful Let’s get it!! God you get all the glory!! #Thankful #Grateful #GodGetsAllTheGlory Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Barring something entirely unexpected, Lockett will get to be the veteran wideout presence for rookie QB Cam Ward, who should be Thursday's No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Lockett was a third-round pick in 2015 by the Seahawks, and he had played all 10 of his NFL seasons in Seattle.

Overall, Lockett has 661 career catches for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns. His 2024 stat line in his age-32 season was 49-600-2. The Seahawks didn't show any interest in bringing Lockett back, making him one of a number of veteran wide receivers available in the market.

Teams slowly moved for them, starting with the likes of Cooper Kupp (to Seattle) and Stefon Diggs (to New England). Now, Lockett gets his turn. He'll get a chance to mentor Ward.

Once upon a time, Lockett was a youngster learning the ropes with Russell Wilson. Now, Lockett gets to help Ward try and reach his full potential. Ward likely went to be Wednesday night a little happier, knowing his almost-for-certain new home now features a guy who has been there, done that in the NFL.
