LAHORE - The second phase of the ‘Punjab Dhee Rani Program’ has been launched in the Khushab district, marked by a dignified mass wedding ceremony for 74 couples. The beneficiary families of the Dhee Rani Program hail from Khushab, Noorpur Thal, and Quaidabad. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif gifted each couple a ‘Salami’ (wedding gift) of one lakh rupees.
Additionally, every couple is being provided with Rs. 120,000 via bank transfer for the purchase of furniture. Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal, Sohail Shaukat Butt, stated that the historic Phase 2 of the Dhee Rani Program, initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has now commenced across Punjab.
He said the Dhee Rani Program is a landmark social welfare initiative across Punjab, playing a vital role in addressing social and class disparities. He emphasized that never before in history has such a large-scale mass wedding program been organized. The program is benefitting not only Muslim families but also people from other religious communities.
He noted that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s performance is evident to all and, like Phase 1, hundreds of families will benefit in Phase 2 as well. On this occasion, Member of National Assembly Malik Shakir Bashir stated that CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched historic public welfare projects within a year and is tirelessly working to provide relief to the common man. Member of Provincial Assembly Malik Asif Bhawana said that the mass wedding program aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision and she is providing relief to the public in every sector.

District President of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Dr. Ghaus Muhammad Khan Niazi, said that the Chief Minister has responded to critics with her unparalleled performance within just one year.
