Ludhiana: Housing and urban development minister Hardeep Singh Mundian inaugurated infrastructure development projects in five govt schools under Sahnewal constituency Saturday. Among them were Govt High School, Jamalpur Awana, Govt Primary Smart School, Jamalpur Awana, Govt Primary School, Bhamian Khurd, Govt High School, Bhamian Kalan and Govt Primary School, Tajpur Bet. Mundian highlighted that significant improvements are being made in school infrastructure under the Sikhya Kranti initiative.
These include the construction of new school buildings, getting new furniture, ramping up laboratories, building boundary walls, toilets, providing clean drinking water facilities, and upgrading libraries. He said the services of 12,700 temporary teachers have been regularised, and more than 20,000 new teachers have been recruited. In addition, 56,700 individuals have been given govt jobs without any favouritism and ensuring complete transparency.
