The Sindh government has introduced the Pink EV Scooty Scheme to provide free electric two-wheeler scooters to female students and working women across the province, aiming to enhance their mobility, independence, and access to safe transportation. Spearheaded by the Transport and Mass Transit Department, the initiative is exclusively for permanent residents of Sindh who are either enrolled in educational institutions or employed. Applicants must hold a valid motorbike or car driving license and commit not to sell or sublet the scooter for at least seven years.
A transparent balloting process will determine the shortlisted recipients, overseen by a committee comprising members of the Excise, Transport, and Finance departments, as well as media representatives. Selected women will also be required to undergo a road safety skill test. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the Sindh Mass Transit Authority’s official website.
They must navigate to the “Projects” section, access the “EV Scooty Ballot Form – Application Form,” complete it, attach the required documents, and submit it online. Rescue 1122 takes proactive steps to ensure public safety This provincial initiative aligns with national efforts to promote electric vehicles. Earlier, the Ministry of Industries and Production signed a cooperation agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to boost investment in electric two- and three-wheelers (e2/3Ws) in Pakistan.
The IFC will support policy reforms and technical implementation, working closely with key regulatory bodies to remove barriers and encourage sustainable e-mobility across the country..
