Virtuos’ Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remaster has not only been leaked by the developer’s official website, but also by Bethesda’s website as well. With the official remaster supposedly releasing on April 21st, the tea behind the fan remake project Skyblivion have commented on the upcoming official release.Skyblivion, an in-development total conversion mod, is completely remaking The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion within The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Set to release in 2025, the fan project has been in development since 2012.Skyblivion devs are fine with official Oblivion RemasterFollowing the leaked screenshots of the official Oblivion Remaster, the mod’s project lead Rebelzize explained that the official release “changes nothing” for the team. With the fan project offering a much different vibe as well as expanded cities based on the game’s original concept art, the lead believes that both projects releasing in the same year is simply a “win-win” for fans.
“This always was a passion project and still is until the end,” the modder told fans on social media. “For the community its a win-win as you get twice the amount of Oblivion this year. All love and no hate towards the people who made the official remaster.
”The official Oblivion Remaster and Skyblivion both appear to be going for very different vibes. For example, the official version appears to be removing a lot of the original game’s high saturation, whereas the modding project is revelling in that gorgeous colour palette.https://www.

Assuming the leaks are real, the game will receive a massively revised archery system—welcome back, stealth archers—as well as “Dark Souls-inspired” blocking and other changes.
Whatever the case, Rebelzize is correct: there are now two reasons to revisit Cyrodil this year, and we’re extremely hyped for both of them..
