Qatar tribune Sohni Dharti, a leading social platform of Pakistanis residing in Al Khor, has announced Executive Committee (Ex-Com) for the 2025-26 term. Having successfully served in this role during the previous term, Anwar Ali Rana will continue to hold the position of Chairman. A distinguished poet, writer, and social worker, Rana brings a wealth of experience that makes him exceptionally well-suited for the role.
His profound knowledge, decisiveness, and resilience set him apart, making it difficult to envision anyone else leading with such effectiveness. The newly appointed executive committee includes Umar Khayyam (President), Gulzar Hussain (Vice President), Mohsin Ali (General Secretary), Javaid Ali (Joint Secretary), Umer Irshad (Cultural Secretary), Zafar Chandio (Sports Secretary), Ghulam Fareed (Media Secretary), and Masood ud Din (Finance Secretary). The Sohni Dharti Forum actively organises a diverse range of programmes for community members, including celebrations of Pakistan National Day and religious gatherings such as Seerat-un-Nabi and Faizan-e-Ramadan.
The forum also hosts sports events like football, cricket, volleyball, and various indoor games for children and adults. Beyond these activities, Sohni Dharti fosters cultural engagement by organising vibrant events such as the Mango Festival, Spring Festival, and Eid Bazaars, inviting members of other communities with an aim to promote Pakistan’s soft image.
