Southern command chief visits defence establishments in Nagpur and Kamptee

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding in Chief of Southern Command, recently concluded a two-day visit to defence establishments in Nagpur and Kamptee. Major General S K Vidyarthi briefed him on the Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat (UMANG) sub area's role in disaster relief and ex-servicemen welfare.

NAGPUR: The General Officer Commanding in Chief of Southern Command , Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth , visited defence establishments in Nagpur and Kamptee. He was briefed about the developments during the two day visit by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General S K Vidyarthi, about the role played by the Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat (UMANG) sub area in humanitarian aid, disaster relief , and welfare of ex-servicemen. The UMANG sub area has its headquarters in Nagpur.

The army commander was also shown the infrastructure development and other initiatives taken by the UMANG sub area. The efforts were appreciated by the Southern Command Chief, said a note issued by the army. At Kamptee, he also visited the Guards Regimental Centre and later the manufacturing facility of Solar Group, the release said.



KEY HIGHLIGHTS Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth visited defence establishments in Nagpur and Kamptee during a two-day tour. He was briefed by Maj Gen S K Vidyarthi on UMANG sub area's disaster relief and ex-servicemen welfare . UMANG sub area's infrastructure and humanitarian efforts were appreciated by the Southern Command Chief.

The visit included a tour of the Guards Regimental Centre in Kamptee, highlighting training efforts. Lt Gen Seth also inspected the Solar Group's manufacturing facility during the Kamptee visit..
