Chris Sutton believes Celtic must prioritise signing a striker this summer. The Parkhead club were keen on acquiring a centre-forward in the January transfer window after Kyogo Furuhashi 's unexpected departure. Despite manager Brendan Rodgers ' public wish to directly replace the 30-year-old, no new number nine was signed.

However, Sutton still considers bringing in a striker as one of Rodgers' main tasks in the coming months. He said [ Sky Sports ]: "I think, without doubt, Brendan will want to sign a striker.
"He talked about when the club sold Kyogo, he wanted to bring someone else in. "I think Brendan is not so sure about him [Idah] being the all-rounder he needs to go to the next level. "I think we've seen the evidence of that because in big games, he's been left on the bench.
"I'm not so sure he's kicked on this season as he would have liked to, and as Brendan would have liked to, hence the club will have to bring in a centre-forward over the summer." This comes after Celtic secured the Scottish Premiership title with a 5-0 victory against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday. Nicolas Kuhn and Idah both scored twice, and Ryan Strain's own goal helped Rodgers' men clinch the title.
Their focus now shifts to Ibrox next Sunday, where they aim to defeat their city rivals for the first time in 2025..
