BENNINGTON — Mount Anthony Unified basketball earned its first victory of the spring inside Kates Gymnasium on Monday afternoon, defeating Otter Valley 58-48. Ten different Patriots scored in the victory, led by Matthew Washburn’s 16-point performance. Calvin Hendon (10) and Xander Sleeman (10) also reached double digits for MAU.
The play of the game was courtesy of Otter Valley’s Alyssa Wade, who banked in a shot near the foul line as the first half drew to a close, trimming the Otters’ deficit to eight at that point. Wade led the visitors with 14 points. Tanner Derepentigny and Collin Elliot also finished in double digits, each scoring 10 points.
MAU (1-2) returns to the court April 28 at Brattleboro..
