Telco giant Optus to increase prices of popular mobile plans

has confirmed it is set to increase the prices of some of its popular mobile plans from June. or signup to continue reading Optus customer solutions MD Anthony Shiner told ACM that monthly plans will increase from $2 to $6 from June 4. Choice, Choice Plus and Business Mobile Plus plans will be impacted by the decision.

Customers whose plans are changing should receive an email or SMS explaining the changes. Mr Shiner said the price hike would allow the telco to "invest in improving the speed, coverage and reliability of our network, as well as enhancing technology, to provide a great experience for our customers". "We're committed to helping keep Australians connected," he said.



Optus is the second-largest telecommunications company in Australia. In November 2023, the telco giant that left more than 10 million customers and thousands of businesses without phone and internet services for 14 hours.
