Texas leads the nation in job creation. March 2025 employment data shows Texas has reached a record labor force of 15,778,500. The state also has a record number of working individuals, including self-employed, at 15,137,500.

Additionally, Texas added 26,500 nonfarm jobs in March 2025, reaching a peak in total nonfarm employment, according to the Office of the Texas Governor."Texas leads the nation in job creation thanks to our booming economy and highly skilled workforce," Abbott told the press. Texas has added 192,100 nonfarm jobs from March 2024 to March 2025, the highest in the nation and growing faster than the national average.



To further support this growth, Governor Abbott announced over $1.3 million in job training grants for Collin County Community College District to address workforce needs in healthcare, accounting, and manufacturing, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.Texas has focused on expanding education and workforce development, with the Governor declaring career training an 'emergency item' for the legislative session.

House Bill 20 and House Bill 120, which aim to improve career and technical education and help students transition into the job market, have passed the Texas House of Representatives. House Bill 2, which provides significant funding for public education, has also been approved. These measures are designed to support the state's economy by creating more opportunities in high-demand sectors, as stated by the Office of the Texas Governor.
