It’s easy to forget just how much the Met Gala has changed over the past 25 years. Back in 2001, the fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institute was largely a New York society event, attended by the likes of Lee Radziwill, Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece and Hillary Clinton, along with the most famous actresses of the era (Gwyneth Paltrow, Sigourney Weaver and Demi Moore were all in attendance that year). Fast forward to now, and the Met Gala has grown into the biggest night on the fashion calendar – with anticipation at fever pitch in the run-up to the event.
