From the very start, Rita was determined to get the talented Lachie on her team. 'Lachie is in a league of his own; he's the ultimate storyteller and has the ability to capture the audience and have them go along with him. He sings like it's the last time, every time,' she said.

'At the end of the day, there are so many artists out there and you have to be that little bit different to make people want to listen to you rather than someone else.' His warning ring true as while some singing show winners like Australian Idol's Guy Sebastian have gone onto have successful musical careers , many others fade from the spotlight like The Voice's 2021 winner Bella Taylor Smith.
