Thunderbolts was granted a UA 13+ rating by the Central Board of Film Certification, as per reports. Thunderbolts* is one of the most anticipated Hollywood films set to release this year. The Jake Schreier directorial is yet another intriguing addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film will be released in India on May 1, a day before its theatrical premiere in the United States. Starring Sebastian Stan and Florence Pugh, Thunderbolts has now received a certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for its India distribution. Reportedly, while there are no visual cuts, officials have asked certain words to be muted.

According to a Mid-Day report, Thunderbolts was granted a UA 13+ rating by the Central Board of Film Certification, subject to specific rules and circumstances. The creators were reportedly instructed to mute a list of swear words including ‘a**’, ‘a**hole’, ‘d**ks’, ‘b***h’ and p**ck. The report quoted an insider source from Star Studios which is responsible for the films’ distribution.

The source stated, “If the terms were to be retained, the film would be handed out an ‘A’ certificate. For a Marvel property, that would narrow down the audience base significantly. Teenagers form a big part of the fan base.

It would also affect satellite and digital licensing value down the line. So, the team complied with the changes." Few days back, Marvel India shared a video to provide fans with a glimpse of what they can expect from Thunderbolts.

They also stated that tickets for the film are now available for pre booking. Sharing a few snippets from the trailer, Marvel India wrote in the caption: “We are as excited as the Red Guardian ‘YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!’ Book your tickets now! Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* only in cinemas May 1." The upcoming MCU film stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry/Void, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost.

Thunderbolts premiered on April 22 at the Empire Leicester Square in London, England. It is set to hit theatres in the United States on May 2. The last film of MCU Phase 5, Thunderbolts will be released in India on May 1.
