Gujar khan - Minister of State for Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani underscored the importance of upgrading small railway stations across all divisions and districts to enhance Pakistan Railways’ revenue. Addressing a large public gathering in Sohawa, a tehsil of Jhelum, he stated that improving smaller stations would ease travel for passengers, eliminating the need to journey to major hubs like Karachi, Lahore, or Peshawar, while simultaneously boosting earnings. The Minister announced that from May 10, the Rehman Baba Express will make official stops at Jhelum Station, and the Awam Express at Sohawa Station.

Initially, these stops will be introduced on a three-month trial basis, after which their revenue-generating potential will be reviewed to determine their continuation. Later, Mr. Kayani inaugurated a renovated Basic Health Unit at Surghdhan and distributed financial assistance cheques to families who lost loved ones in natural disasters.
