Day 3 was a busy one for Les Snead and the Los Angeles Rams as they made four picks, three of which came after trading up the board. Their third pick of Day 3 was Ole Miss linebacker Chris Paul Jr., an athletic defender who flies around the field when you flip on the tape.
He plays with controlled aggression and violence when he meets ball carriers, something the Rams will certainly welcome to their defense. He was one of the best linebackers in the country last season as a Butkus Award finalist, finishing with 88 tackles (11 for a loss) and 3.5 sacks.
Rams fans are understandably excited about this pick given the state of the position, and Paul is going to bring some serious swagger to the middle of the defense. Take a look at some of his highlights from last season.Paul will need to earn playing time, even with as little talent as the Rams have at linebacker, but he could be a starter by the end of his rookie season if he continues to ascend the way he did in 2024.
He's a promising prospect with a high ceiling as a fifth-round pick. This article originally appeared on Rams Wire: Rams draft highlights: Watch Chris Paul Jr.'s best plays at Ole Miss.
