The Georgia native took an official visit to West Virginia over the weekend following the scholarship offer and was able to close the deal on the offensive tackle option. Haslam played 622 snaps last season and started a total of nine games at left tackle which was his most extensive playing time of his career. He played in two games at left guard the year before and spent time at both tackle spots across seven games in 2022.

Haslam has two years of eligibility remaining in his college career.Haslam becomes the fifth offensive line commitment for West Virginia since the spring transfer portal window opened and joins Mississippi State interior lineman Carson Lee, North Alabama offensive tackle Mickel Clay, Texas offensive tackle Malik Agbo and Oklahoma interior offensive lineman Josh Aisosa.WVSports.

com breaks down the transfer commitment of Haslam and what it means to the West Virginia Mountaineers football program both now and in the future. The data:Haslam has played a total of 761 snaps along the offensive line during his time at Austin Peay and is coming off his most experience this past year with 622 of those. Haslam has 430 pass blocking snaps under his career and has been strong in that department hitting at least a grade of 72.

8 in all three of his years. In run blocking Haslam has played 331 snaps and graded out at 58.0 this past season although he has the size and movement to profile well in that department.

Across his career snaps, Haslam has only given up one sack and allowed just 17 total pressures. He has spent the vast majority of his snaps at left tackle with 674 of the 761 total but has experience at right tackle (74), left guard (7) and even as an in-line tight end (6).Fitting the program:West Virginia has been very aggressive adding offensive linemen this spring and the addition of Haslam brings the total to 21 in the room with 10 of those being transfers.

Haslam has the versatility to play multiple positions but brings valuable time at left tackle at the college level under his belt.Haslam is going to be able to compete for time immediately this summer, but with two years of eligibility remaining he would have an extra year to work into the position room. He is a physical blocker that has the size and athleticism to make the jump the next level of college football.

Recruiting the position:Haslam makes it ten transfer additions on the offensive line for West Virginia in total and gives the program another option that could play offensive tackle or perhaps even move inside to guard. The Mountaineers have made it clear that finding quality options up front was a necessity and Haslam adds to the haul.Still, never say never at this stage of the off-season as the coaching staff has made it clear that all positions are under the microscope and the more talent brought into each room will only make it better overall.
