Wildfire Preparedness Day set for Saturday in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — A Wildfire Community Preparedness Day has been scheduled for Saturday at the Solano Town Center. "Learn about reducing the risk of wildfire from local fire resources," the Solano County Fire Safety Council said in a statement. Local fire and law enforcement personnel will be on hand.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.



m. In addition to learning about the importance of having a plan for the next emergency, including knowing evacuation routes, being signed up for emergency alerts and creating an emergency kit in the event of having to leave the area, the event will include other features. Those highlights include interactive activities, fire extinguisher demonstrations, raffle prizes and an emergency vehicle display.
