Woman in critical condition after being pinned between bumpers on Mount Royal

A woman is in critical condition after being pinned against her car by an SUV Monday in a parking lot on Mount Royal. According to Const. Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the Montreal police, the incident occurred at around 4 p.

m. in a parking lot off Remembrance Road. Several 911 calls were placed, she said.



When police arrived at the scene, they found a woman in her 40s on the ground. She had serious lower body injuries, Dubuc said. She was conscious at the scene, was quickly treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital.

Medical authorities later told police the woman sustained life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told police the woman was leaning into the trunk of her car when the collision occurred, Dubuc said. A 27-year-old man was driving the SUV in the parking lot when he allegedly struck the woman, pinning her between the two bumpers, Dubuc said.

It's unknown at this time why the driver made such a manoeuvre, Dubuc added. The driver was arrested for dangerous driving, she said. Police established a perimeter to investigate the collision.
