Worker, 29, injured in steel plant accident dies

Chennai: A 29-year-old guest worker from Bihar, who had suffered severe burns on April 10 after a ball of molten steel fell on him at a company in Gummidipoondi, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. Another migrant worker also suffered burns and was admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) hospital. The deceased man, Rajkumar Roy , 29, was employed at the steel plant in Chittoor Natham village near Gummidipoondi.

Police said Rajkumar Roy and another worker, Sudhir Kumar, were engaged in smelting work at the furnace on April 10 when the molten iron spilled all over the place from the furnace. The Pathirivedu police registered a case..
