After a last-minute delay to the console versions, popular free-to-play shooter FragPunk is finally available to play on PS5. Publisher NetEase has brought its twitchy, unique FPS to PS5 today, with both cross-platform play and cross-progression supported. This means you can play with those on PC, and even continue your progress elsewhere too.
The company has confirmed a few other details; console players will be issued "plenty of gifts" as an apology for the delayed launch. Those who bought the previously available Pioneer Bundle will be eligible for extra goodies. Because of cross-play, those playing on consoles will have access to an enhanced aim assist to help them stay competitive with mouse and keyboard users.
To recap the game itself, FragPunk's core idea is a series of cards you can activate mid-match that apply all kinds of effects that bend the rules. There are over 100 of these, and with 10 players in the game's team-based rounds, that means a lot of potential chaos as everyone uses their cards. On top of the card system, this is a hero shooter, with 12 unique characters with specialised abilities.
