Free trees at Blessing of the Fleet

"It will be a good time," promised Town Planner Chris Lubert when detailing a tree giveaway at the April 27 Blessing of the Fleet before members of the GREEN Commission. From 11 a.m.

to 5 p.m., Towns staff and volunteers will be manning a table at Memorial Waterfront Park, where they'll be doling out about 250 seeds of roughly seven or eight tree species.



Plus, much like the Town's recent Plantasia event, attendees will be educated on invasive and non-native plant life. GREEN Commission Chair David Quick asked each member of his team to support Town employees at the annual shrimping festival, as volunteers will be expected to handle two-hour shifts..
