The Vancouver Whitecaps are set to take on Inter Miami tonight at B.C. Place, in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal.
On top of that, fans are holding their breath to see if soccer superstar Lionel Messi will deign to make an appearance on Vancouver turf. Tickets for the match were selling at a brisk pace early this month, with the lower bowl now sold out and some upper bowl sections opening this week with limited availability. That said, the game is now a sellout, with more than 50,000 fans expected.

Gates for the match open at 5:30 p.m., though kickoff isn’t until 7:30 p.
m. Warm ups will take place at 6:50 p.m.
Fans can also enjoy pre-game activities, live music, spray-on tattoos, mascot meet and greets, and merch sales on Terry Fox Plaza from 4 to 7 p.m. Midfielder Ryan Gauld will also be signing autographs at the pre-game fan event from 4:30 to 5:30 p.
m. Anyone enjoying a pint in downtown Vancouver before the match can also join the ‘March to the Match’, which leaves Dublin Calling at 6 p.m.

The soccer superstar was spotted practicing with his squad on Wednesday out at the University of B.C., where fans flocked to get a glimpse of the action.
