The Maharashtra state cabinet has approved a new electric vehicle (EV) policy aimed at boosting EV adoption and manufacturing in the state. As part of the policy, passenger EVs will receive increased subsidies, and certain categories of EVs will be exempted from toll payments. The government will also ramp up support for EV manufacturing, consumption, and the development of charging infrastructure.
Announcing the decision on Tuesday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the new policy is designed to accelerate the state’s transition towards sustainable mobility.
