U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin after a series of airstrikes hit Kyiv, with the former U.S. leader stating that he is "not happy" with the attack.

Donald Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent Russian bombing of Kyiv , telling reporters, "I'm not happy" and hinting at consequences by saying "things will happen" if Russian President Vladimir Putin doesn't agree to peace in the region. During a Thursday press conference in the Oval Office with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, a reporter referenced a Truth Social post by Trump, asking, "In a Truth Social post, you used the words 'Vladimir, STOP!' That seemed like a slightly different message - a personal message. What is your level of frustration with President Putin?".

Trump replied, "I didn't like last night. I wasn't happy with it," adding that the missile strikes occurred amidst peace talks, which increased his displeasure : "We're in the midst of talking peace, and missiles were fired. I was not happy with it - that's what I meant, and that's what I said.

Or what will you do if President Putin does not respond?". Preferring to delay his response, Trump stated, "I'd rather answer that question in a week - I want to see if we have a deal," indicating a short timeline for the peace negotiations he mentioned during a Cabinet meeting press conference, which also featured Støre, reports the Mirror US. "No reason to answer it now, but I won't be happy.

Let me put it that way. Things will happen," Trump ominously threatened when pressed by reporters, refraining from further details even after being queried about his warning. One journalist pressed the former president: "Why are you not putting more pressure on Russia ? I know a lot of Europeans would like to see that," to which Trump's response hinted at underlying strategies: "You don't know what pressure I'm putting on Russia .

They're dealing - you have no idea what pressure I'm putting on Russia . We're putting a lot of pressure." When asked for specifics, "Can you maybe tell us? What kind of pressure are you putting on Russia ?" Trump vaguely responded, indicating Putin's awareness of the situation: "We're putting a lot of pressure on Russia , and Russia knows that, and some people that are close to it know, or he wouldn't be talking right now.

" Speaking of Putin, Trump suggested that dialogue was ongoing due to the pressure exerted: "The prime minister [Støre] understands that better than anybody. He [Putin] wouldn't be talking right now - he's talking, and we're putting a lot of pressure," adding with cautious optimism about potential negotiations, "I think he wants to make a deal. We're gonna find out very soon.

But it takes two to tango, and you have to have Ukraine want to make a deal, too. They're being hit very hard, and I do believe they want to make a deal." Earlier in the day, Trump sharply criticized Putin on his Truth Social platform, commanding the Russian leader with a direct plea: "Vladimir, STOP!" He expressed his disapproval of the airstrikes on Kyiv that resulted in at least eight deaths and over 70 injuries, including at least six children.

Trump also targeted Ukrainian President Zelensky on Wednesday via Truth Social, criticizing Zelensky's stance on Crimea as an obstacle to peace talks. "Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is boasting on the front page of The Wall Street Journal that, ' Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There's nothing to talk about here,'" Trump quoted, indicating the negative impact of such statements on the ongoing peace discussions with Russia .

"This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama, and is not even a point of discussion," he added, taking an unexpected jab at former President Obama..
