Xbox has detailed its latest round of updates for the month of April, and these include two noteworthy new features. First, Xbox is now allowing you to purchase games, add-on content and Game Pass subscriptions from within its official mobile app. This feature is rolling out now to beta users on iOS and Android and will be available “ soon” for everyone on these platforms.

The company notes that this has been “one of the most requested features from the Xbox community.” Another highly requested feature is the ability to stream games you own on your Xbox console through Xbox Cloud Gaming with Game Pass Ultimate. For much of the service’s availability, you’ve only been able to stream games included with Game Pass, with Xbox only last year opening this up to games you own that can be streamed to TVs and browsers on smartphones, PCs, and tablets.

Over 100 games are supported, and you can search for these on your console by visiting your library and selecting Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming. Alternatively, buying a supported game from the Store will allow you to start streaming it immediately. On top of that, Xbox remote play can now be used for any game installed on your console by visiting xbox.

com/remoteplay on any device with a supported web browser. At this time, remote play functionality has been removed from the dedicated Xbox app, although you can still cast games to your mobile devices through a browser. Other changes this month include more tools to simplify freeing up console storage and updated Game Hubs to provide more information (like stats and achievements) about a given title.
