Joanna Kołaczkowska died peacefully, with her nearest family and friends around her. The members of the Hrabi cabaret shared this in their heartfelt message. Asia died peacefully, without suffering. Surrounded by loved ones and friends – among those she cared for and who cared for her very much," they stated. Her fellow actors called her a distinctive person who had a special spot on stage and in real life.
"She left a gigantic gap that cannot be filled. In us, the ones who were close to her, who shared the stage and life with her. And in the world of art, which was her territory, her home, her air." And she was its most gorgeous personification," they said in their goodbye.
A Beloved Icon of Polish Cabaret
Joanna Kołaczkowska was loved for her huge sense of humor that could illuminate anyone's day. "Thank you, Asia. For the laughter, for the emotion, for the beauty and goodness you carried within you and gave to the world." wherever you are today – smiling, bright, free – you share your laughter with others, just as you brought us joy and hope, even on the worst days," her Hrabi colleagues wrote in a moving tribute.
She had long battled cancer. This April, Hrabi cabaret posted news about her health and requested support from fans, stating, "Aśka – our Aśka – regretfully will not be performing with us. Her present health needs all our care and attention. This is not a trifling thing. It's cancer."
Joanna Kołaczkowska was a well-known personality of the Polish cabaret. She started out in the Potem cabaret and eventually became a vital member of Hrabi from 2002.
Her talent and graciousness drew admiration from so many individuals. She died at the age of 59, creating lasting memories and making an indelible mark on the Polish cabaret scene.
