Last year, Swift charted her eleventh album in the Spotify record books with The Tortured Poets Department, which became the most-streamed album in a day. The title of the new album was announced using an excerpt from Kelce's podcast take, and it is available for pre-order on her official website. A second note went out to fans in North America who pre-ordered the album: it would ship before 13 October, though this is not a confirmed release date.
Career Milestones and Music Ownership
That put Swift in line to enter the year 2025 on something of a quieter note than the woman who crisscrossed the world breaking records with her Eras tour. In May, she revealed that she had re-recorded her first six albums, marking the end of a protracted and very public fight over ownership of her music. They were sold out of her hands, leading her to re-record them as "Taylor's Versions. As of now, she has re-released 4, and will introduce the last two "when the time is appropriate."
The Eras tour ended in December 2024 with a total of 149 shows in fifty-three cities. It was attended by almost 1.2million people in the UK, with eight sell-out nights at Wembley Stadium alone. And with the tour estimated to have made £1bn for the UK economy, Swift is now an actual billionaire.
Record-Breaking Legacy
Go to Swift Bulletins for the entire list of accolades held by Swift, including recent honours, Artist Of The Past Decade scheduled with American Music Awards. She is MTV's most awarded artist of all time and has won 14 Grammys, including four Album of the Year Awards. With her next record on the way, the latest LDR cover might be greeted with even more enthusiasm, given how much of an impact this artist has had and still has on music.
