Over 250 padosis have already exited India

Pakistani nationals in India have been directed to leave the country in the wake of the Pahalgam Terror Attack. At least 28 tourists were slaughtered by terrorists on April 22 in the Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam. Dubbed the ‘mini Switzerland of India,’ the picturesque meadow became a site of massacre as six terrorists gunned down tourists, sparing the women and children.

In the wake of the horrific incident, the government of India has downgraded diplomatic ties with the padosis. The decision was taken on April 23 at the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) that was held at PM Modi’s residence in Delhi. Pakistan has denied any involvement in the attack, while an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), The Resistance Front (TRF), claimed responsibility, later denying.

Meanwhile, Pakistani nationals are ordered to leave the nation or else will be charged under the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025 that has been in effect since April 04. Per the act, violation of a visa or trespassing in restricted areas will amount to three years in jail with a fine of Rs 3 lakh. The deadline for SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) visa holders was April 26, while for those carrying medical visas, the ultimatum was April 29.

At least 272 Pakistani nationals holding 12 categories of visas, including visa on arrival, business, journalist, film, student, pilgrim, etc., had exited through the Attari-Wagah border by Sunday.
