The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey described the emotional challenges while portraying her on-screen character’s most heartbreaking moment. The second season of the American post-apocalyptic drama series The Last Of Us brought us all sorts of action and plenty of heartbreak moments. Now, Bella Ramsey , who played the role of Ellie in the TV series created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO, opened up about the most challenging scene during the filming of the same.

She also talked about her bond with Pedro Pascal, who was seen in the role of Joel in the series, and how his departure brought new responsibilities upon her. In a recent chat during Sunday’s third episode of Season 2, Bella Ramsey was asked about the most emotionally charged scene in The Last Of Us, which even pushed many boundaries of her comfort. She replied to the Hollywood Reporter, “Oh God, in the closet, that was the hardest," referring to the scene in which Ellie profoundly weeps over finding Joel’s jacket in a closet.

The 21-year-old Emmy nominee added, “So I really struggle with crying in scenes. I don’t cry in front of people in my everyday life. A very, very limited amount of people in my life will see me cry.

So I was really worried about that scene, and that was the toughest one for me to shoot." The Worst Witch fame further explained how she overcame the hurdle, “I’ve tried [before in crying scenes] to think about something really sad in my own life and try and evoke emotions that way," adding, “That doesn’t really work for me because it takes me out of the truth of the situation for Ellie. So I was remembering the happiest of memories that I have with Pedro.

The thing that is always the saddest for me is remembering the happy things." Reflecting on the joyful memories followed by the grief Ellie felt after losing Joel, she shared, “I was remembering us the first few times that we met and the whole of shooting season one together, and the funniest moments. I was remembering all of that and through the lens of losing him — not just Joel and Ellie, but like me and Pedro — because the memories of me and Pedro and Joel and Ellie are so intertwined for me.

" Earlier, in another cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, Ramsey touched on the responsibilities which were handed on her shoulders after Pascal’s death and departure from the series. “I would never consider myself a leader," she shared, adding, “But there’s something that happens when I’m given responsibility where I really like the feeling, and I take the responsibility very seriously. I’m very happy to lead a set and have a lot of influence over the tone and dynamic, especially given there’s preconceived ideas about a young person who’s No.

Everybody should know they’re valued as a crewmember, as a cast member, and that we’re all equals." Ramsey and Pascal continue to be friends with one another despite their strained friendship on-screen..
