BJP wins mayoral poll; Raja Iqbal to be Delhi's new mayor

BJP’s Raja Iqbal was elected as the new mayor of Delhi on Friday, marking the party’s return to power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) after two years. Iqbal defeated Congress candidate Mandeep Singh, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) boycotted the election. He previously served as North MCD mayor and was the Leader of the Opposition in the MCD.
