Giant in Numbers, Silent in Action

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has failed to protect the values of Muslims all over the globe from malevolent forces.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has failed to protect the values of Muslims all over the globe from malevolent forces. The continuous and relentless massacres of the unarmed Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by vicious and horrifying Zionist forces, under the leadership of PM-turned-war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, are startling. The OIC, being the official representative of the Muslim cause, has been in shackles and doldrums, caused by internal differences and variances, whether be of religious, geopolitical, economic, or territorial that in generality are of miniscule importance before collective Muslim unity.

Moreover, it has failed to bring two opposing parties – Iran and KSA or Yemen and KSA – under its domain by improving fractured relations practically. Besides, the ongoing aggression by the Israeli Defense Forces – IDF in the occupied Palestinian territories highlights the absence of unity and cohesiveness among the Muslim brotherhood. Furthermore, the allies who are complicit in the Israeli-led genocide of Palestinians continuously fund the Zionist state of terror in the form of aid, armaments, and most importantly, diplomatic and moral support, while witnessing genocide a corner away.

The blind eye on the genocide by the OIC further isolates innocent civilians of Gaza and the West Bank. The OIC’s passiveness in front of the arsonist state of Israel also shows failed collective measures to halt the Gaza siege. Its helplessness before the ultra-orthodox Zionist forces shows how vulnerable and stunted the OIC has become, even being the second-largest intergovernmental organization after the United Nations.

Moreover, the economic and military might of the OIC has shown its obsolescence. The Muslim unity is shattered by the fact that there is no unanimous stance among the OIC member states on one issue. Currently, nations such as Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Morocco, Sudan, and Bahrain formally recognize Israel and have normalized relations under the Abraham Accords.

While there are many Muslim nations that shun Israel, many are affected by the direct or indirect influence of the Zionist regime. Moreover, Turkey, being the cherisher of the Palestinian cause under the hollow leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has trade exchange going on while genocide taking place two borders away. In the previous year, Turkish exports to Israel were $1.

52 billion. This stark data presented by Trading Economics shows the duplicity and maneuvering of Turkey under the Erdoğan leadership. The condemnation and hollow rhetoric from the OIC leaders, especially the Turkish president, creates false propaganda and little hope for the Palestinian determination and freedom.

Moreover, the fractured relationship between some Muslim countries in the Middle East, such as Iran and Saudi Arabia, or Qatar and Saudi Arabia, is the key cause that hampers Muslim brotherhood. It presents the internal divisions vying for the regional and global power-game dynamics under the banner of Muslim unity that is in shambles. It is important to mention that those proxy forces calling themselves “resistance groups” fighting for the Palestinian cause, should respect the innocent human’s dignity regardless of their religion to massacre and must divert their attention to peaceful dialogue first and if not addressed, then turn their eye onto occupying forces.

Once revered as the holy forces fighting for the independence of Palestine, are now considered equal complicit in the massacres of the Palestinians. Pakistan, being the key global and regional player in the geopolitics, must not shun Israel to be labeled as helpless and feeble. A stark response to the Zionist regime must be presented by the higher authorities, rather than rhetorical language and condemnation to limit Israel’s crimes against humanity.

Pakistan must form diplomatic ties between the warring countries in the Middle East to form cohesiveness under the leadership of the OIC. The ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians in the presence of 57 OIC member states shows the dependency of the Muslims on external players, be it of aid, trade, or investment. Almost every Muslim country is reliant on external powers, whether for security, aid, investment, or partnership.

It is the extreme audacity of the Zionist regime that it continuously bombs hospitals, UN schools, and residential areas by its western hypocrite backers. Further, it is staggering for the Muslim nations to witness the genocide of discontent for more than a year. What makes the Zionist ghetto so adamant that it is committed to the deadly campaign of genocide? It is the miniscule level of issues among the Muslim nations that cause internal divisions and lack of cohesiveness, commitment, unity, and brotherhood to fight common enemies.

The OIC’s collective crucial steps for the unity and morale of the Muslims, especially Palestinians, can demilitarize the occupied territories. The OIC must uphold the freedom of Palestine on all the global platforms to champion the cause of the Muslims. The people of Palestine must not be left in this dire situation when they are suffering the collective wrath of the Zionists and western foes.

The robust role and capabilities must be taken by the OIC to counter the contentious conflict of Israel-Palestine to polish its fractured image, failures, and lack of commitment. Moreover, vigorous initiatives and policies by the OIC should be implied to debunk the Zionist dominance and international dependence of the Muslim states on foreign powers.
