KP cabinet takes decisions on several vital matters

Peshawar - Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information & Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said on Thursday that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur had strongly condemned the behaviour of the Indian government following the Pahalgam incident.

Peshawar - Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information & Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said on Thursday that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur had strongly condemned the behaviour of the Indian government following the Pahalgam incident. Presiding over the 31st meeting of the provincial Cabinet, which was chaired by the Chief Minister, he described the Indian government’s aggressive stance in the wake of the incident as highly regrettable and utterly unacceptable. “Pakistan is fully prepared to give a befitting response to any form of Indian aggression,” stated the Chief Minister Gandapur.

The CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also warned that if the Indian government tried to use the incident as a pretext for any kind of hostility, it would have to bear severe consequences. “We are fully united for upholding the sovereignty, integrity, and interest of our country, Pakistan. We are always prepared to make every sacrifice for our nation and homeland,” asserted the CM.

He reiterated that the Indian government’s belligerent attitude had always posed a serious threat to regional peace and stability. The meeting was attended by the cabinet members, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Administrative Secretaries, and Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Roads network in limbo as ministry delays maintenance reforms Elaborating on the decisions made by the Cabinet, Barrister Saif said that the Cabinet had approved the draft Bill for Amendment in Section-12 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charities Act, 2019.

The amendment provides for renewing the registration of a charity every two years after its initial registration. Similarly, the Cabinet also approved the addition of new rules in Part IX-A of the West Pakistan Land Revenue Rules, 1968, in accordance with sections 121, 122 (2), 129 (1), 148, and 182 of the West Pakistan Land Revenue Act, 1967. These new rules pertain to land demarcation and eviction of unauthorised landowners.

This resolution states that “The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly categorically rejects the proposed amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), as they are contrary to the principles of a free press and freedom of expression. The Assembly stands in full solidarity with the journalist community and strongly condemns any action aimed at restricting or suppressing journalistic freedoms. We therefore call upon the Provincial Government to recommend to the Federal Government that all controversial, undemocratic, and oppressive amendments to the PECA law be withdrawn.
