Letter: Find more compassionate way of cutting

Interesting that a UAW member that reads Solidarity magazine is so supportive of a president that has laid off tens of thousands of workers. The government is bloated, but a more compassionate way is by putting in a hiring freeze to reduce employment by attrition. After I got out of the service I was out of work every year for 10 years except one year when I worked a full year.

I’m not buying anything now hoping to find a sucker willing to pay 14% more for a stock than I paid. Why does Congress want to raise the debt limit when the government is saving so much money by cutting everything? More likely the debt will increase $2 trillion this year and after four years it will be up to 46 trillion.
