NA body condemns India’s action on IWT, Israel’s Gaza attacks

ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution condemning India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and downgrading of diplomatic ties, calling the actions a serious provocation.

ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution condemning India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and downgrading of diplomatic ties, calling the actions a serious provocation. Chaired by Rana Iradat Sharif Khan, the committee also adopted a separate resolution denouncing the killing of civilians in Gaza, characterising Israel’s actions as ethnic cleansing. It extended condolences on the passing of Pope Francis, acknowledging his global influence.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs briefed the committee on expanding the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing, with a focus on outreach in remote regions. Plans to integrate provincial public grievance systems, including AJK and GB, with the Pakistan Citizen Portal were also discussed. Since the 16th National Assembly’s inception, 44 assurances have been made by various ministries, the committee was informed.



The meeting was attended by MNAs Ch. Mahmood Bashir Virk, Shaikh Aftab Ahmed, Ms. Muneeba Iqbal, and others, along with senior ministry officials.
