Only a madman would risk plunging two nuclear-armed nations into war, knowing that the lives of hundreds of millions hang in the balance. Yet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi—driven by Hindu nationalist zeal and political brinkmanship—appears to be that madman. India has launched brazen, unprovoked aggression against Pakistan, crossing not only the Line of Control but even the international border, leading to dozens of casualties and injuries.
Under international law—and by every moral standard—Pakistan has the unquestionable right to defend itself. India’s actions have not only endangered regional peace, but also pose a grave threat to global stability. In the face of this provocation, Pakistan’s armed forces have responded with discipline, courage, and effectiveness.
The swift downing of five Indian jets within hours of the attack underscores the Pakistan Air Force’s operational superiority and its unshakable commitment to the defence of our homeland. The military stands united with the people of Pakistan, ready to respond to any threat with resolve. India’s credibility is now crumbling under the weight of its own propaganda.
It failed to convince the world in Pulwama, it faltered in Pahalgam, and its latest narrative is beginning to unravel as well. The international community is no longer taking India’s version of events at face value. India must take heed.
This reckless misadventure will have consequences far beyond what it can afford. Modi’s government, intoxicated by war hysteria, xenophobia, and extremist rhetoric, has become the single greatest obstacle to peace in South Asia. Its support for proxy terrorism and its use of aggression for domestic political gain are the root causes of the region’s instability.
The time has come for the global community—and for South Asia as a whole—to confront this reality. India must be held accountable before it drags the entire region into a catastrophe..
