Peshawar - Pakistan People’s Party Senator Rubina Qaimkhani on Thursday said that her party is committed to standing with the people and farmers, questioning the rationale behind new canal projects amid a worsening water crisis. “Water is a basic necessity, and we are already facing a shortage. If they are planning to construct new canals, then where will the water come from?” she asked.

Citing PPP’s consistent advocacy for public rights, Rubina Qaimkhani called for an urgent Council of Common Interests meeting to address the issue. She also referenced PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s remarks during a recent Hyderabad rally, warning that unilateral decisions on sensitive matters would not be accepted.
