The April 16 letter, “ Call on Congress to hold hearings on cuts ,” about our concerns over tariffs and the chainsaw cuts to our institutions that protect us was a good idea. I am also 76 and have been meeting with my representative and senators, calling for action. One result is Sen.

Cory Booker’s recent record-breaking speech calling out the president’s negative actions was a direct result of his constituents demanding action. With possible cuts to Medicaid and SNAP coming up to pay to continue tax breaks for the wealthy, it is a critical time to communicate with those we elected. Our voices can make a difference.
