The Ghana Academy of Muslim Professionals (GAMP) has strongly condemned the ongoing violence in the Palestinian Occupied Territories, particularly in Gaza and Rafah, describing it as a humanitarian crisis that must be urgently addressed by the international community. In a statement issued and signed by its General Secretary and copied to The Ghanaian Times, Mr Rayhann Shaban, GAMP expressed deep concern over the continued bombing of refugee camps, attacks on hospitals, and the targeted killings of journalists and aid workers. The organisation questioned the continued silence and inaction of the global community in the face of what it described as mounting atrocities.

“How many more hospitals should be raided? How many more refugee camps should be bombed? How many more journalists should be murdered, and how many more aid workers should be gruesomely targeted?” the statement queried.GAMP noted that despite facing a genocide charge before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Israel continues its military operations in the region with impunity, in violation of international humanitarian law.“The one-sided chaos across Palestinian Occupied Territories, especially in Gaza and Rafah, should have ended long ago before yesterday.

Yet it persists today and Israel, the aggressor knows it can as well continue in the days ahead,” it stated. The organisation commended South Africa for leading the legal battle at the ICJ and praised other allies, including the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG), for their sustained advocacy for Palestinian rights and for holding Israel accountable for its actions.GAMP further called on Muslims to keep Palestine in their prayers and to become vocal advocates for justice and peace, in line with Islamic teachings on confronting wrongdoing with action, speech, or heartfelt solidarity.

The statement also urged the Government of Ghana to take a firm and unequivocal stance on the situation in Gaza, and for all people of conscience to add their voices to the global call for peace and the protection of human life.“This is a call to the world to act and to act now. Every life lost, every ceasefire breached, and every hospital destroyed is a scar on the conscience of humanity.

It must stop!” the statement indicated BY PRINCE ADDO FRIMPONGThe post Violence in Gaza must be urgently addressed by international community – GAMP appeared first on Ghanaian Times..
