A Quiet Game Bursts to Life
For long spells it was an uneventful match. Then Shaw was brought down in the box by Griedge Mbock Bathy and put away the spot kick. The visitors responded straight away, going up the other end and carving open City's defence to level things.
Shaw had missed chances earlier, including a header that dropped wide and a second-half strike that was tipped behind for a corner. PSG offered little going forward until Gilbert's equaliser, but they frustrated City for large parts of the game.
The result leaves Andree Jeglertz's side unbeaten in all competitions this season. City have now drawn all three of their European matches, though they still face Inter Milan, BK Hacken and Austria Wien in the league phase. They will be considered favourites in those games and remain well placed to reach the knockout stages.
Underwhelming, but Still Unbeaten
City haven't blown away any opponent on their return to the Champions League, and they arrived with two points from their first two games. They have faced their toughest league phase opponents early, though, and will be pleased to stay unbeaten, even with work left to do.
It was largely a quiet night, with neither side settling into a rhythm or holding control for long. City had the better of the first half, when Shaw struck wide from just outside the box and a few set-pieces were headed off target. Supporters watching in the cold at the Joie Stadium were relieved to hear the half-time whistle after a forgettable 45 minutes.
The second half brought more chances. PSG captain Sakina Karchaoui whipped a dangerous free-kick inches over the bar, Shaw had a decent effort tipped behind by goalkeeper Oliwia Peda, and she then headed wide from a cross. The game truly woke up in the final 10 minutes. Shaw's penalty looked to have given City the win they were waiting for, only for Gilbert's clinical break to cancel it out almost immediately.
Jeglertz still sounded confident. "We were drawn against six teams and we've played the three toughest of them, I think," he said. "Now, we have three games that we have the opportunity, again, to get the points we need to qualify for the next round. That's our goal. Nothing has changed."

Man City Held by PSG After Late Equaliser in Champions League
Manchester City conceded late and were held to a draw by Paris St-Germain, so their wait for a win in this season's Women's Champions League goes on. Tara Elimbi Gilbert slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita in the 88th minute, shortly after Khadija Shaw had given City the lead from the penalty spot.
