Rapid response was reported when the incident began at around 10:00 local time after police received calls reporting multiple gunshots. The school was evacuated just before 10 a.m., with several emergency vehicles on the scene and a police helicopter circling above.
The surrounding area was quickly secured by authorities. In addition, Austria's interior ministry and local police confirmed that the perpetrator is dead. They added that there is no further threat to the public, as the building has been secured and the crime is under investigation.

Eight people were killed, including teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18, in a deadly school shooting that took place in the Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday morning.
