North Korea has stopped foreigners from visiting its newly opened Songdowon seaside resort. This sudden move comes only weeks after the resort began welcoming the public. The Songdowon resort, located in Wonsan on the country's eastern coastline, was opened to showcase the country's tourism potential. However, the unexpected ban now limits access strictly to local citizens.

Resort Opened, Then Quickly Restricted
The Songdowon seaside resort was recently introduced to both domestic and foreign visitors. The facility had attracted attention with its clean beaches and improved facilities aimed at boosting tourism.

But as of now, only local North Korean people are allowed to visit the area. Foreign tourists, who were initially welcomed, have been banned without any official explanation. This restriction comes after just a few weeks of public operation.

A Change in Tourism Strategy
Wonsan is well-known in North Korea for its beautiful beaches and tourist-friendly environment. The decision to keep foreigners away from the Songdowon seaside resort raises questions about the country's tourism policy.

While the opening of the resort showed an interest in welcoming more visitors, the quick change suggests a shift back to restricting access. This step reduces chances for foreign interaction and highlights the unpredictable nature of North Korea's travel regulations.
